History

From Print to Digital: A Journey of Purpose and Progress

Baxter Bros began with a vision: to preserve the ever-growing wealth of academic literature while transforming how it is stored, accessed, and shared. The idea emerged in the mid-1990s, when rising costs and shrinking physical space threatened the accessibility of printed research in university libraries.

Established as an independent nonprofit organization, Baxter Bros pioneered the digitization of scholarly journals, creating a centralized archive that would eventually evolve into a global digital research platform.

Over the years, we have expanded our reach and impact:
